A few major developments from Haulix HQ

Hello, everyone! We know it has been a minute since we offered any updates to what is happening behind-the-scenes here at Haulix headquarters, but today we have some pretty exciting news to share that we think everyone will appreciate.

Over the weekend our team made changes to our system that increased the storage and bandwidth limits in all of our regular plans. With more storage, you can upload more promos.  More bandwidth means more downloads and streaming and less overages. Subscription prices stay the same!

We’ve also added a brand new subscription tier we’re calling ‘Beast Mode.’ This plan sits in between the Indie Powerhouse and Rising Star plans and costs just $54/month.

For more information on our subscription tiers and to see the changes we’ve made, visit our official site today.

Haulix Weekly Update #133: “You traded my soul for pogs?”

Hello, everyone! Welcome to another Haulix Weekly Update. Have you had a good week in the office? It has been unsurprisingly hot in Minneapolis, but our team has been making the best of it with long hours spend in cool offices plugging away at our next big release. We have a few important news items to share, but before we get there we wanted to show you this:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

Development updates:

We know you are anxious to see the new version of Haulix, and we’re incredibly excited to share it with you, but unfortunately the wait has just been extended a bit longer. Developing a game-changing platform is no easy task, and unfortunately this week we realized we needed a few extra days to ensure everything is as good as it can possibly be. Our plan is to have the updated platform out by the end of June, so please stay tuned!

Blog updates:

With all the planning and work being put into the next phase of product development we have admittedly put our blog efforts on the back burner a bit. That said, we are still churning out 5-10 original columns every week, including our podcast (Inside Music). We may not be hitting the same quantity we did three months back, but we believe the quality of what we create is better now than ever before. Don’t believe us? Head over to the archives and see for yourself.

That is all the news we have to share this week. Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to check back tomorrow for a brand new Job Board.

Best,

Team Haulix

Haulix Weekly Update #98: “And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.”

Hello, everyone. Thank you for stopping by our blog. Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, we’re happy to have your attention. This is our weekly recap post, which runs every Friday, and in it we talk all things Haulix. Before we get there however, we like to share a song that has been on repeat in our offices this week. With the weekend only a few short hours away, this track will help you celebrate your impending freedom like no other. Enjoy:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

DEVELOPMENT NEWS:

Work on our impending relaunch continues, but at this point we have no new information to share on the development front. That said, we did complete our first Haulix user guide this week, and we hope to have it available for download beginning in early October.

Additionally, we have begun planning a series of online learning sessions to help introduce clients, as well as members of the press, to the new version of Haulix. Signups for these courses will begin in early September.

BLOG NEWS

The biggest piece of news we have this week on the blog front is our recent collaboration with SonicBids. A lot of people have told us our blog reminds them of the one SonicBids has, so our two companies decided to partner and share content in order to better provide our readers with a more well-rounded view of life in the modern music industry. You’ll see some of their posts on our site moving forward, and you’ll likely spot some of our old content on theirs.

We’ve also been messing around with podcast stuff, but we’ll have more on that next week.

Haulix Weekly Update #96 – “But my mom says I’m cool.”

Hello, everyone. Thank you for finding a little time in your surely busy schedules to spend a few minutes browsing our company blog. Fridays are always a special time, and we could not be happier to have you with us. Before we dive in, let’s celebrate the end of a long work week with this new jam:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

DEVELOPMENT NEWS:

Following a couple weeks filled with updates regarding our forthcoming platform update, this week we have basically nothing to report. Development is ongoing, but there are a lot of tiny details being worked out at the moment that would mean nothing to the average consumer if explained.

BLOG NEWS:

To be honest, the blog took a bit of a backseat in recent days as our team worked to bring our first-ever user handbook to life. We are planning to release guides for press and clients alike ahead of our relaunch this October, and to do that we’ve had to divert some of our attention away from the blog. That said, we did use this week to lineup a number of great interviews, as well as the long-awaited return of our podcast.

In case you missed any posts this week, we took it upon ourselves to link every piece of content we ran this week in the space below. Take a few minutes and catch up:

Haulix Weekly Update #56: Bands With Silly Names Often Produce Great Music

Hello again, everyone! Last week our Recap was delayed on account of our team being in Denver for Riot Fest, but this time around we are ready (on time) to deliver everything you need to know about the latest happenings at Haulix HQ. Before we get there however, I wanted to bring your attention to a great band with an incredibly silly name. Microwave, a group hailing from Georgia, recently released a killer new record that we cannot stop spinning around our office. They released a music video this week for one of our favorite tracks, which you can now view below:

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

REMINDER: Scheduled Maintenance

We will be performing general patch updates in all of our servers this Saturday, September 27, from 12:00PM to 4:00PM CST. There will be some minor downtime during the process and services will be unavailable.

Aside from the scheduled maintenance mentioned above, we honestly do not have many development updates to share this afternoon. After a summer spent refining our anti-piracy efforts, our dev team began concentrating their efforts on retooling how promos are created, which is a process that will likely take many weeks to complete in full. Our goal is to begin rolling out minor updates as they are finished, but at this point we have nothing new to share. I can say that customization is one of the big things we are working to improve upon, and hopefully I will be able to detail those efforts in the near future.

Though our travels delayed the flow of content on the blog ever so slightly, we made a lot of strides toward bringing you better, more in-depth coverage in recent days. It all started with Twitter, which lead us to land enough podcast guests to plan ‘Inside Music’ episodes through the beginning of November. We also conducted a slew of interviews, including BandsInTown, MerchBar, Dead Milkmen (!!!!), Tantric frontman Hugo, Jesea from Tragic Hero, and more. Not sure when all that content will run, but please know it’s on the way.

In case you missed anything this week, here is a list of all our recent posts:

INTRODUCING: Haulix Profiles

Hello again, everyone! We usually save our big company updates for the weekend, but given the size of this new feature we thought it best to give our latest expansion a post all its own. If you read our weekly recap last week you may already know what we’re about to discuss, but this explanation will be slightly more in-depth than before. If you have any questions about the content in this article, or if you have an artist you would like to see featured on this blog, please contact james@haulix.com and share your thoughts. We can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.

One of the biggest concerns we have had in recent months when speaking with clients about their Haulix experience has been the fear of having their press contact information expire or otherwise become useless. You can only set aside so much time to update and reaffirm the information on your contact list, and as the the number of journalists you’re trying to reach grows it becomes increasingly difficult to manage.

We recognize the need for up to date information and easy database management, which is why we have created a new, state-of-the-art profile system that not only allows members of the press to see what labels have them listed as a contact, but also gives them the power to control what email addresses they are contacted at and who can contact them. When a member of the press changes their information that data is then updated on the contact page for every label that has that person listed as a contact.

To access the Profile screen, you must first access a Haulix promo. Once on that page, click the ‘Promos’ button at the top of the screen.

Next, enter your 4-digit code. If you do not have one, or if you think you may have forgotten yours, click the help button located below ‘Submit’ and you will be sent instructions on how to reset this part of your Haulix experience.

On the ‘Promos’ screen, click the ‘Profile’ button in the top left corner of the page. There may be red lettering that says ‘NEW’ next to the button.

Welcome to the ‘Profile’ page! Here you can reset your 4-digit passcode, verify alternate emails, and view a complete list of every label that has named you as a contact. All verifications require email confirmation, but those confirmation emails are sent immediately after each request is made. Unsubscribing, however, is immediate. [Emails omitted for privacy]

As I mentioned above, as soon as this information is verified your contact information will be updated in the database of every label and PR firm that has you listed as contact. It’s of the utmost importance that you double check the information on this screen before confirming it to be accurate. If anything is misspelled you may see an almost immediate change in the frequency of promos being sent your way.

We are always on the lookout for new ways to improve our platform and better your user experience. If you have questions about the profile system, or if you have suggestions on how further improve Haulix in the future, please do not hesitate to email james@haulix.com and share your thoughts.
