Haulix Weekly Update #75 – “Inflammable means flammable? What a country!”

Hey there, everyone. Welcome to our blog. If you’re reading this post the day it goes live then you are no doubt aware of the fact Valentine’s Day weekend is only a few short hours away. We don’t know if you will be with someone special tomorrow, but regardless you should set a little time aside to tell those who mean something you that they are indeed special. We don’t really have a soundtrack for such an occasion, but this song has been on repeat around our offices this week:

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

NEW DEV UPDATE! NEW DEV UPDATE!

We know the beginning of the new year was slow for updates, but after receiving responses to our 2015 client survey we quickly developed a list of goals our development team has been diligently working to reach. Today we’re thrilled to unveil ‘Public Promo Groups.’ Here’s how it works:

Promo groups are containers used for organizing your promos on various screens that you and your coworkers view.

Every one of your contacts has a “My Promos” screen where Haulix compiles all promos from all senders who sent an invitation to that contact.

You can now control how your promos are organized on that screen by making one or more of your promo groups “public.”

From your Promos screen, click on the Groups button.  Checking the Public checkbox will make the respective group appear on your contacts’ My Promos screens.

This feature is only a visual enhancement. All permissions that you previously established work the same way.

The promo order you establish in the group (drag n’ drop) on your Promos screen will get mirrored on the contact’s My Promos screen.

As for the blog, things have been typically busy. We were supposed to run a special Inside Music this week with Stick To Your Guns, but unfortunately those plans had to be scrapped at the last minute. We plan to make it up, but right now we don’t know when that will be.

Failed attempts at bonus content aside, we’re incredibly proud of the week we’ve had. Please take a moment and catch up on all our latest content offerings:

That’s all we have for this week. Actually, that’s a lie. We have some extra special content planned for this weekend. STAY TUNED!

Haulix Weekly Recap #73 – “Purple Is A Fruit”

It’s that time of week once again! Just as you were starting to feel like the office would consume your entire world, the weekend has arrived with the hope of freedom and relaxation. We’re not quite there yet, but in a few hours we will all be free to kick back and see what kind of trouble we can start. Before we get there, however, I wanted to provide you with the perfect soundtrack for whatever you plan to do in the next few days:

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

You may be tired of hearing this bit by now, but for the third consecutive week there are essentially no development updates to share. This will change next week, or so I am told, but right now our developers are hard at work on some major advancements that we plan to reveal a bit later in 2015. The Haulix you have come to know and trust will always be here, but we’re planning to expand the services we offer in a way that is both exciting and-at least in our opinion-very much needed in today’s industry. More on that soon.

On the blog end of things, I believe this week was our strongest so far in 2015. We featured some killer content, ran an incredibly podcast, and laid the foundation for more than two dozen new articles that will find their way onto the blog sometime in the months ahead. This required a lot of hard work and long hours, but the reactions from you make every second worth it. If you missed anything, you can find links to our all recent posts below:

Haulix Weekly Update #70 – “In This House, We Obey The Laws Of Thermodynamics!”

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the very first Haulix company update of 2015. We have had a bit of weird week with the holidays and all, but it will still quite productive around HQ. Before we get to all that however, we typically start these things with some music. Take a few minutes and familiarize yourself with the immense talent of Eden The Cat:

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

This week has been a relatively quiet one as far as developments are concerned, but we did discuss a number of big ideas for the year ahead we think you will love. We have a lot of goals for 2015, and with your help we know we can craft a better, more versatile platform than anyone else is able to provide. We should have a few updates soon, but this week we simply don’t have anything far enough long to discuss it. Sorry.

On the blog end of things, we did not let the many parties we weren’t invited to on New Year’s Eve distract us from creating awesome content. We did not run an article a day, but we came close, and we’re incredibly proud of every piece of content we produced. In case you missed anything, here’s a quick review:

Haulix Weekly Update #68 – “My Pudding Is Trapped Forever!”

Hello, internet friends! The end of the work week has arrived once more, and this time it is made extra special by the fact it is also the day many begin their long-awaited holiday breaks. The Haulix team will be working nearly every day ahead, but we’re thrilled those of you who put in long hours all year long are finally able to get some rest. If you work a job that offers no break at all, maybe this song from San Diego’s Sledding With Tigers will inspire a new year’s resolution or two:

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

We have development updates! We have development updates!

Just like Santa scurrying down your chimney, Haulix-claus is here with a special development update that impact clients and press alike. Clients have always been able to send multiple promos in a single email. If it’s a one-promo email and the contact clicks the link, it goes directly to the promo screen — no passcode required. From there, if they click on Promos, it prompts for the passcode. If it’s a multi-promo email and they click the main link on the bottom of the email, it USED TO prompt for the passcode. We updated the system so that it passes them through — no passcode. They go to a screen that has all of the promos from the email. They can then click the one they are interested in, thus streamlining the process for everyone involved.

On the blog end of things, we like to think the end of December has quickly become one of the most exciting times of the entire year. While many sites are slowing their content creation efforts, our team is working hard to bring you the best advice and most in-depth interviews available anywhere online. We’re not taking Christmas week off, and you can bet all the sass found online we’re not taking a break for the new year. We’re here for you, and as long as you’re ready be inform we’ll be ready to teach.

If you missed anything this week, here is a quick rundown of our recent content offerings:

Haulix Weekly Update #67 – “You Don’t Win Friends With Salad”

Hello, everyone! It is Friday once again, which means like many of you we are trying our hardest not to watch the clock tick away the final hours of the work week. Some of us do this by burying ourselves in work, while others try and get as far away from anything resembling a timepiece as possible. For me, it’s music that kills time, and this week nothing as consumed more of my free time than the awesome talent of Chela. Check out “Handful Of Gold” and feel the hours melt away:

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

AN UPDATE ABOUT UPDATES

We have been releasing a series of minor platform updates throughout December, but this week our releases were kept to a minimum while our development team put in long hours toward completing a new email release we hope to have out early next week. This may very well be the last product update of 2014, and it will be released alongside a rundown of every major advancement made over the past twelve months. 2014 was a wild year for us, and we hope you will join us in celebrating everything we have accomplished.

On the blog end of things, a trip to the midwest kept editor James Shotwell’s ability to conduct and edit interviews to a minimum. Still, we put together a slew of great original columns, as well as a one of a kind podcast about the struggles of raising a child who wants to work in entertainment. We’re incredibly proud of this content, and we encourage you to experience it all. Here’s a quick rundown of everything produced in recent days:

Haulix Weekly Update #66 – ‘You Know What They Say, Time Is Monet’

Hello, everyone! The first work week after Thanksgiving is only a few short hours away from completion and if you’re anything like us then you’re itching for the weekend to arrive. We love our jobs and we could not ask for a more exciting industry to be a part of, but sometimes you just want to unplug, crank some tunes, and let all your stresses slide off your back like condensation on the side of a cold drink. Doesn’t that sound nice? We can’t make the clocks move faster, but we can give you a soundtrack to help pass the time. Ladies and gentlemen, take a moment to familiarize yourself with Night Terrors Of 1927:

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

We have platform updates! We have platform updates!

We have been promising the release of additional development updates before the end of 2014, and today we can finally shed some light on the many projects we have been working on in recent weeks. There is obviously a lot we cannot share at the moment, but here are a few items we think you will enjoy:

—   System will send an alert email if you hit 80% of your monthly bandwidth usage

—   System will send an email confirmation when making a plan change (upgrade, downgrade, hibernation or cancellation)

—   Contacts screen now has separate groups highlighting bounces, unsubscribes and invalid email accounts

—   Dashboard now shows bandwidth usage for the life of each promo

We hope to have more updates out before the end of the year, but with the holidays fast-approaching we will have to see what we can make happen. Regardless, 2015 is going to be WILD. We have some big ideas and we are putting every ounce of ourselves into making them a reality. We’ll have more on all that soon.

On the blog side of things we’ve perhaps never been busier than we are at this very moment. Between daily content, interviews, transcriptions, podcasts, and the planning for our yet to be revealed end of the year feature (which is incredibly cool), we cannot seem to find nearly enough time to do everything we desire. In fact, James is planning to spend a good portion of his weekend working just so we can get ahead.

In case you missed any posts, here’s a quick list of our recent content offerings:

Haulix Weekly Update #65 – Listen To More Front Porch Step

Good afternoon, everyone! Many of you have the day off thanks to America’s love of turkey, but the growing number of press releases in my inbox tells me there are several industry vets hard at work. This post can help fill your free time and distract you from another day at work. A little something for everyone, if you will. For example, we bet everyone can find a reason to love this:

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

The holiday kept us from completing any new platform releases this week, but we did inch closer to another round of development updates. I’m not allowed to tell you exactly what we have in the works, of course, but it will simplify the lives of clients and press alike. While we wait, why not make use of these recent updates:

Bandwidth Usage Alerts

The system will now send you an email alert when you hit 80% bandwidth usage for the month.

Bandwidth Usage Graphs

The bottom of your dashboard has a new function, “Show Promo Bandwidth”. Click the link and yellow bars will appear showing how much bandwidth has been used per the lifetime of each promo measured in gigabytes.

Plan Change Alerts

Anytime you upgrade, downgrade, hibernate or cancel your account, you will now receive a confirmation email.

On the blog end of things, the past seven days saw a nice bump in content creation. We have been trying to better our output without jeopardizing the overall quality of our content, and I believe we have found a way to do just that. A lot of it is owed to our friends Andrew Jones and Lueda Alia, two influential industry stars on the rise who have dedicated time to contributing content to this site. We love them, and it’s clear from your response to their work you feel the same. I (James, the guy who writes 99% of what you see here) have a few additional industry friends I hope to bring into the fold in the months ahead. If you’d like to join that group, please contact me through social media.
