Haulix Weekly Update #133: “You traded my soul for pogs?”

Hello, everyone! Welcome to another Haulix Weekly Update. Have you had a good week in the office? It has been unsurprisingly hot in Minneapolis, but our team has been making the best of it with long hours spend in cool offices plugging away at our next big release. We have a few important news items to share, but before we get there we wanted to show you this:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

Development updates:

We know you are anxious to see the new version of Haulix, and we’re incredibly excited to share it with you, but unfortunately the wait has just been extended a bit longer. Developing a game-changing platform is no easy task, and unfortunately this week we realized we needed a few extra days to ensure everything is as good as it can possibly be. Our plan is to have the updated platform out by the end of June, so please stay tuned!

Blog updates:

With all the planning and work being put into the next phase of product development we have admittedly put our blog efforts on the back burner a bit. That said, we are still churning out 5-10 original columns every week, including our podcast (Inside Music). We may not be hitting the same quantity we did three months back, but we believe the quality of what we create is better now than ever before. Don’t believe us? Head over to the archives and see for yourself.

Haulix Weekly Update #132: “Remember when I said I’d eat you last? I lied.”

Hello, everyone! We hope this update finds you staying cool as the summer temperatures begin to roll in. It is currently 93 degree in Minneapolis as we write this post, which for midwesterners like ourselves feels like the surface of the sun. Thankfully, there are a number of crazy good album releases arriving in stores today, and we’re going to try and keep our minds off the heat by enjoying those works. Development updates:

We told you last week that we were finally prepping for the release of our long-awaited platform overhaul, and we are happy to report we are still on track to meet our desired deadline. We don’t want to jinx ourselves by putting an exact date out into the world just yet, but know that we are within 2 weeks of seeing our vision for the future of Haulix (and really – promotional distribution as a whole) realized. More news on that will appear on this blog in the days ahead.

Blog updates:

If you have been following our daily posts you’ll have no doubt recognized a lot of content being produced as of late. This is admittedly part of a two-fold plan. On one hand, we want to provide you with everything you need to navigate the modern music business. On the other hand, we know as we near the launch of the new Haulix we will not have time for content creation, so we’re shoveling out a lot of posts now to hold you over until we can return to business as usual. If you missed anything as of late, especially our podcasts, please head over to our archive and catch up ASAP.

Haulix Weekly Update #130: “I just like to smell my lunch”

Hello and welcome to another Haulix company update. We are thrilled that you were able to find time in your busy schedule to visit our blog, and we hope you continue to visit for years to come. We like to take time each week to reflect on our highs and lows, which is really why this post exists. Development news:

The image above is the first official screenshot of the new Haulix website. We are less than a month away from the long-awaited reveal of what we’ve been calling Project Falcon, and we honestly cannot wait to share the updated platform with the world at large. Our team has been working seven days a week for over a month to get us to this point, and we can finally see the end in sight. Just be patient a short while longer and we’ll have a wealth of new information to share. We promise, the wait is almost over.

Blog news:

We recently returned for a trip to Music Biz 2016 in Nashville, and while we were on the ground a number of our readers made themselves known. We love meeting people who enjoy Haulix, and we love even more when those people want to discuss our business, as well as the industry in general. When we got back to Minneapolis you could feel a renewed excitement for our content efforts, and we hope that passion is reflect in the work we have been delivering. Haulix Weekly Update #128: “Shoulda, but didn’t-a”

Hello, music fans! At least, we assume you are music fans. We hope this message finds you ready and excited for the weekend. Our team has been trying to work throughout the day, but the onset of summer has us aching to flee the office and run wild outdoors. Before we get there however, we wanted to share a few thoughts with you, as well as some music. Let’s begin:

Development news:

Let’s begin by answering the one question we are sure the majority of you have: When is the long-awaited platform update going to be release? The answer, at least as it stands right now, is the end of May. We have a team of devs working around the clock to get this beast completed, and we even went as far as to outsource additional developers to ensure we can push the new version of Haulix out as soon as possible. We deeply appreciate your patience.

Blog news:

Activity on the blog was up this week, but content creation is still taking a back seat to work on the new platform. We are quite proud of the material shared as of late, so please take a few moments to experience everything we have prepared for you. The best way to do that, at least in our opinion, is by scrolling through our archives. Enjoy.

The month of April has been ridiculously productive for us, and we hope the same goes for you. Each and every week we like to take a little time to sit back, reflect, and review everything that has transpired at HQ in the recent days. Development news:

There was a time not too long ago when we teased the release of our much anticipated new platform as being something we expected to happen this upcoming weekend. Well, believe it or not, we’ve been forced to push back our release to the middle of May. Everything is moving swiftly, but we need a little more time to ensure everything is as good as it can possibly be. The end is in sight however, so please don’t let this delay leave you feeling disheartened. Good times are on the horizon.

Hello and welcome to another end of week recap from Haulix HQ. The month of April is now in full swing, but one look at the forecast and you wouldn’t be wrong to ask if winter was still lingering in the air. Spring may have sprung, but it doesn’t feel like it on the Minneapolis streets outside our front door. Still, we make due with whatever mother nature hurls our way, and part of how we do that is by listening to great music like this:

Yes, we have news! After many months of teasers and promises we have finally set a desired launch date for our major platform revisions at the end of this month. Our entire team is working round the clock to make that goal a reality, and as we near the end of April we will begin revealing all we have in store. Stay tuned!

Haulix Weekly Update #125: “200 channels, and nothing but cats.”

Hello, everyone! Thank you for finding a little time in your surely hectic lives to spend a few minutes browsing our company blog. Easter is this weekend, and we’re looking forward to spending some much needed time with family. Before we get there however, we want to share a little insight into everything happening right now at HQ, including this track which we have had on repeat all week long:

WEEKEND SERVER WORK:

We will be doing a small server upgrade this weekend.  There will only be about 5-10 minutes of downtime, but we wanted to make you aware just in case you encountered any issues using our platform. As always you can tweet any questions or concerns you may have to @Haulix.

DEVELOPMENT NEWS:

Work continues on the long-awaited and long-teased Haulix remodel. We have more than 75% of the coding complete, and we expect to begin testing the updates as early as next week. Our goal is to have the revamped platform ready for release by the end of April, but we are not committing to a specific date at this time. As soon as we feel it’s as good as it can be it will be available to you. 

BLOG NEWS:

You may have noticed there was no weekly update last week because our team was busy promoting Haulix in Texas at SXSW. We had a blast on the streets of Austin, and we used our experiences there to fuel the content we’ve created over the last week, including the release of 3 brand new podcast episodes. Head over to our Archives page to see everything you might have missed!

Haulix Weekly Update #124: “He calls himself ‘The Wallet Inspector’”

Hello again, everyone! We hope this message finds you well. March is already a quarter of the way done and we are finally starting to feel like we have a firm grasp on everything we wish to accomplish in the coming months. We like to use Fridays to reflect on everything we have done as of late, but before we get there we wanted to share this track that has been on repeat in our offices this week. Enjoy:

Development news: 

The long-teased Haulix platform update is still a few weeks from completion, but progress is being made with each passing day. Our company recently switched to Microsoft Azure, which has proven incredibly beneficial. Our costs are lower, but we have more power than ever. The implementation of Azure was the last ‘big piece’ we needed before piecing together the new platform, so it feels safe to say we are finally in the home stretch of this development process.

As for a release date, it appears we are still not ready to drop that information just yet. When we are ready however, you will be the first to know.

COME SEE US LIVE!

We are less than two weeks away from the start of SXSW, and just like last year we will have people on the streets of Austin all week long. James Shotwell, Digital Marketing Coordinator, will be spear-heading our efforts on site. He will also be hosting our panel, which happens on Friday, March 18, from 2-3PM. Development news:

We’ve been asked to keep details at a minimum, but suffice to say this week the Haulix team received the last major piece of what we would consider the second of a three-part lead up to the release of our new platform. We are now just days away from beginning testing on all our upgrades, and after that is complete we will be pushing the finished project to all of you. More details soon!

Hello, everyone. Welcome to the final recap of February 2016. It’s kind of hard to believe this year is already 1/6 complete, but that appears to be the case. Have you been tackling you new year’s resolutions, or putting them off? We’ve done our best to do the former, but it’s hard to resist a lazy weekend at home. The new version of Haulix is coming along smoothly, though we are uncertain it will be ready for unveiling at SXSW as originally planned. As a result, we wish to keep most the details regarding the numerous updates planned under wraps. We will say that the new Haulix will be easier to use and offer better security than any of our competitors can claim. We have poured everything we have into this project, and we will continue to do so until it is as good as it can possible be. You deserve nothing but the best, and we will find a way to make it available.
