On this episode of INSIDE MUSIC, host James Shotwell chats with Lou Miceli of Palisades about his band’s forthcoming album, Erase The Pain. Inside Music #130: Copneconic

Have you ever heard a band that catches you completely off guard? The kind of group or artist that not only defies whatever expectations you may have but also wholly captures and holds your attention? We hope so.

Copneconic, hailing from Michigan, caught us off guard last week. Combining elements of indie and alternative rocks with a heavy dose of fuzz, the band lands somewhere between Weezer, Nirvana, and The Vines. Their lyrics deliver midwest grit funneled through the kind of quirky songwriting born from a life spent fighting for the chance to do the things you love. They’ve released one full-length, Generation Parasite (via Save Your Generation Records), and it’s all you need to shake off whatever 9-to-5 woes may be weighing you down.

On today’s show, Copneconic member Sam Moore chats with host James Shotwell about the band’s latest activities, as well as his role in HOPE: A Comic for Flint. You can stream their conversation below.

Inside Music Podcast #125: From Ashes To New

Roughly three years ago, Inside Music host James Shotwell was attending a conference for aspiring music professionals when he received a hot tip from an industry contact. “You need to see this band,” they told him. “They are going to be the next big thing in rock.”

That band, as you can probably guess by now, was From Ashes To New. Formed in Pennsylvania, FATN delivers a hard-hitting sound that borrows from both the Warped Tour scene and more mainstream acts like Linkin Park. The final result is something wholly unique in the current music landscape, and we could not be more thrilled to share insight on how it all comes together through today’s episode of the podcast.

From Ashes To New’s latest album, The Future, is available wherever music is sold.
