Haulix Weekly Update #127: “Part of this D-minus belongs to God”

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you so much for carving a small bit of time out of your surely busy schedule to browse our company blog. The month of April has been ridiculously productive for us, and we hope the same goes for you. Each and every week we like to take a little time to sit back, reflect, and review everything that has transpired at HQ in the recent days. Before we get there however, we wanted to share a song that has been on repeat around our offices in Minneapolis. Check it out:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

Development news:

There was a time not too long ago when we teased the release of our much anticipated new platform as being something we expected to happen this upcoming weekend. Well, believe it or not, we’ve been forced to push back our release to the middle of May. Everything is moving swiftly, but we need a little more time to ensure everything is as good as it can possibly be. The end is in sight however, so please don’t let this delay leave you feeling disheartened. Good times are on the horizon.

Blog news:

With all the planning and work being put into the next phase of product development we have admittedly put our blog efforts on the back burner a bit. That said, we are still churning out 5-10 original columns every week, including our podcast (Inside Music). We may not be hitting the same quantity we did six months back, but we believe the quality of what we create is better now than ever before. Don’t believe us? Head over to the archives and see for yourself.

That is all the news we have to share this week. Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to check back tomorrow for a brand new Job Board.

Best,

Haulix

Haulix Weekly Update #125: “200 channels, and nothing but cats.”

Hello, everyone! Thank you for finding a little time in your surely hectic lives to spend a few minutes browsing our company blog. Easter is this weekend, and we’re looking forward to spending some much needed time with family. Before we get there however, we want to share a little insight into everything happening right now at HQ, including this track which we have had on repeat all week long:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

WEEKEND SERVER WORK:

We will be doing a small server upgrade this weekend.  There will only be about 5-10 minutes of downtime, but we wanted to make you aware just in case you encountered any issues using our platform. As always you can tweet any questions or concerns you may have to @Haulix.

DEVELOPMENT NEWS:

Work continues on the long-awaited and long-teased Haulix remodel. We have more than 75% of the coding complete, and we expect to begin testing the updates as early as next week. Our goal is to have the revamped platform ready for release by the end of April, but we are not committing to a specific date at this time. As soon as we feel it’s as good as it can be it will be available to you.

BLOG NEWS:

You may have noticed there was no weekly update last week because our team was busy promoting Haulix in Texas at SXSW. We had a blast on the streets of Austin, and we used our experiences there to fuel the content we’ve created over the last week, including the release of 3 brand new podcast episodes. Head over to our Archives page to see everything you might have missed!

That is all the news and updates we have to share this week. Have a great holiday weekend and be sure to stop back on Sunday for a brand new job board.

Best,

Haulix Weekly Update #123: “This doesn’t happen in America. Maybe Ohio, but not America.”

Hello, everyone! Welcome to another Haulix Weekly Update. Have you had a good week in the office? It has been unsurprisingly cold in Minneapolis, but our team has been making the best of it with long hours spend in warm offices plugging away at our next big release. We have a few important news items to share, but before we get there we wanted to show you this:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

COME SEE US LIVE!

We are less than two weeks away from the start of SXSW, and just like last year we will have people on the streets of Austin all week long. James Shotwell, Digital Marketing Coordinator, will be spear-heading our efforts on site. He will also be hosting our panel, which happens on Friday, March 18, from 2-3PM. Click here for more information.

Development news:

We’ve been asked to keep details at a minimum, but suffice to say this week the Haulix team received the last major piece of what we would consider the second of a three-part lead up to the release of our new platform. We are now just days away from beginning testing on all our upgrades, and after that is complete we will be pushing the finished project to all of you. More details soon!

Haulix Weekly Update #122: “No, it’s the children that are wrong.”

Hello, everyone. Welcome to the final recap of February 2016. It’s kind of hard to believe this year is already 1/6 complete, but that appears to be the case. Have you been tackling you new year’s resolutions, or putting them off? We’ve done our best to do the former, but it’s hard to resist a lazy weekend at home. One of the things motivating us has been music, especially this song:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

Development news:

The new version of Haulix is coming along smoothly, though we are uncertain it will be ready for unveiling at SXSW as originally planned. As a result, we wish to keep most the details regarding the numerous updates planned under wraps. We will say that the new Haulix will be easier to use and offer better security than any of our competitors can claim. We have poured everything we have into this project, and we will continue to do so until it is as good as it can possible be. You deserve nothing but the best, and we will find a way to make it available.

Blog news:

Activity on the blog was up this week, but content creation is still taking a back seat to work on the new platform. We are quite proud of the material shared as of late, so please take a few moments to experience everything we have prepared for you. The best way to do that, at least in our opinion, is by scrolling through our archives. Enjoy.

That is all the news we have to share this week. Have a safe and productive weekend. We will see you back here on Sunday for a brand new job board.

Best,

Haulix

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Today is the one day of the year when our team unplugs (for the most part) and focuses their time on family, friends, and anything we may have missed while working to perfect our platform. It has been a crazy year for us at Haulix, and we wanted to take a few quick moments to thank you for making it all possible.

As of right now, the Haulix team is made up of less than five people, which leaves us with a lot more tasks to accomplish than time to work on them. We don’t mind though, we actually prefer the challenges that having a small team presents. There is not a single day when anyone on our staff is left with nothing to do, and if anyone ever does complain of being bored there is always another team member who could use a helping hand. We wake every day excited to do our jobs, and we are only able to feel that way because you, the client, support our vision.

Speaking of the future, a new version of Haulix has been teased for many months. We initially promised to have our updated platform live by mid-October, and we’ll be the first to tell you how hard it was to admit we would not make that deadline. We are now less than two weeks from the end of the year and our new platform is still incomplete, but we are incredibly close to being able to test the platform, which means the actual release is not far off. We cannot find the right words to express how or why your continued support gives us faith in our plans, but it does, and we know we would not have made it as far as we have without you. Every single suggestion or recommendation we have received since launch was considered when planning this update, and we believe once complete our system will be the best of its kind on the planet. That, like everything else, is only possible because of you. So again, thanks.

We will no doubt reflect on 2015 further before the new year arrives, but know now that we appreciate all you have done to promote and support Haulix this year. We did more in the last twelve months to better our company than we had in the three years prior, and we promise when you see the results of our efforts you will not be disappointed. For now, log off and spend time with your families. They miss you, and they deserve to know about all the cool things you have done in music this year.

Happy holidays.

Haulix.

Haulix Weekly Update #108: “The doll’s trying to kill me and the toaster’s been laughing at me!”

Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for finding a few minutes in your busy schedule to browse our company blog. Life has been rather hectic around HQ this week, and like many of you we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the weekend. Before we get there however, we want to take a little time to reflect on everything we have accomplished in recent days. We also want to share this killer song with you, which has become something of an anthem for us as of late:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

Development News:

After a few weeks of teasers regarding the new platform we’re sorry to say this week arrives with no new updates from the Haulix Dev team. Our small team is doing the kind of work that would usually be handled by 10 or more developers, and the progress they’ve made so far is nothing short of stunning. We cannot wait to share our new platform with all of you, but right now we must ask that you be patient just a little while longer. We hope to have all work completed by the end of November, but we cannot guarantee when the updated site will launch just yet. Maybe next week.

Blog News:

This was a weird week for a our blog team. James Shotwell, Marketing Coordinator for the company, actually abandoned his post behind a computer to travel to Pennsylvania for a speaking engagement at Mansfield University. While there, James engaged the student body with tales from the front lines of the war on piracy, as well as stories from his career in the industry. All that said, James still managed to churn out a bundle of great content, which you can find links to below:

Haulix Weekly Recap #107: “I’m sick of being so healthy”

Hello, everyone. Thank you for taking a few minutes to browse our company blog. Things have been a little slow this week, but that is due more to our staff battling colds than a lack of ideas. We’re currently bundled up on couches, and by the time a new week arrives we hope to be back in tip top shape. Until then, we thought it best to recap our week, as well as share a song that we think everyone will be talking about soon. Enjoy:

As I mentioned above, each and every weekend we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

DEVELOPMENT NEWS:

Since our updated platform is still a month away from launch we thought it might be fun to share two new features coming to Haulix that we feel will benefit clients immensely:

– Press Release Creator (no more need for MadMimi or MailChimp)

– Drag and drop customization on all promos and press releases

We will continue to unveil additional changes/updates in the week(s) ahead. Stay tuned.

BLOG NEWS:

If you wanted to know who made us sick, go ahead and blame blog editor James Shotwell. For the past week James has been growing increasingly sick, and at this point he has no voice at all. We’ve forced him into bed rest, so hopefully things will pick up next week. In the meantime, use these links to catch up with our latest content offerings:

Haulix Weekly Update #106: “Are these idiots getting louder or dumber?”

Hey there, everyone. Thank you for taking a few minutes to explore our blog. If you’re reading this post on the day it goes live then you are likely waiting for the weekend to arrive. We’re in the same boat as you, and to be honest we all have some wild plans for the days ahead. Before we get there however, we want to take a few minutes to reflect on all that has happened at HQ in recent days. We also wanted to share thing song with you, which a few of us plan to have on repeat all weekend long:

We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

DEVELOPMENT NEWS:

We actually have some news to reveal this week, though it is admittedly not the type of thing we are excited to share. Due to a few minor setbacks over the last week, we are now expecting our updated platform to be ready for public consumption during the last half of November. This means you might have to wait about a month longer than originally anticipated, but I can assure you it’s worth it.

In other development news, our team actually spent some time together this week. Our staff is spread across the country, but a few times every year we join together to focus on our future plans. That was the agenda on Friday night, and we’re excited to say some really cool stuff was discussed. We can’t talk about it, but please know the gears are always turning at Haulix HQ.

BLOG NEWS:

We have been busy planning the relaunch of Haulix, so most of our time outside of content creation has been dedicated to that. We are thrilled to finally have Inside Music back on a regular basis, and we appreciate those of you who continued to support and/or request the show during its absence.

SXSW News:

So, remember when we asked you to help us make our dream of bringing a discussion on piracy to SXSW a reality? Well, WE DID IT! Haulix will be spearheading an industry discussion about the piracy, its ongoing impact, and the hope we have for the future. More details will be available soon.

Development News:

We don’t have any new information to share on the development front. As we work on this post our development is grinding away at what will become the new version of our platform. It’s cleaner, faster, easier to navigate, and complete with an overhauled set of analytics that offers more insight into how users engage with your promos than ever before. We hope to have the final version ready for release in November, but it may take a little bit longer to get everything just right. We really appreciate your patience.

BLOG NEWS:

Things on the blog continue to progress with each passing week. This is always the case, I suppose, but in the past week it has especially been true as we have been attempting to plan the remainder of 2015. It’s true we are still nearly three months from welcoming 2016, but January will be here fast and we want to be prepared.
