Practice Better: A Simple Guide To Getting Ahead

Everyone thinks they know how to get ahead, but most of us are falling short of our potential because we never learn how to practice our craft.

Every aspiring professional knows they need to practice to improve their skills. Still, those destined for a lasting career recognize early on that the journey towards perfection with your art is one that never truly comes to an end. There is always room for improvement, whether you’re trying to be the best artist or publicist, and practicing your art regularly is key to further developing your skills.

But what does that mean exactly?

The dictionary will tell you that ‘practice’ is defined as ‘(the) repeated exercise in or performance of an activity or skill so as to acquire or maintain proficiency in it.’ That’s an utterly generic way to explain the term, but if you approach your work on your art with similarly vague intentions, you will stunt your development. To truly practice something means to be fiercely focused and driven toward specific goals, taking every opportunity to improve and further refine your abilities. You don’t just play guitar for an hour a day; you work on specific songs and song creation. You don’t just write to read your wordplay; you do it to get something off your chest that feels like it might suffocate you if kept within. To practice is to work towards something with purpose, whether or not you achieve your goal.

Practice familiarizes you with your art.

As creative people, it can sometimes be hard to revisit things we make once we share them with the world. Our basic instincts tell us to move forward and continue creating, but it’s vital that we do not give in to these urges and instead spend time reflecting on just what we are doing with our time and minds. Is your latest work better, or at least on par with everything you have done before? How can it be improved? Do you need to scrap the majority of your current project and start over with the handful of honestly good lines you have been able to create? Practice forces us to look at our art and question whether we represent ourselves to the best of our abilities.

Practice allows you to create the future without committing to it.

Your next book, album, or press release may change the world, but you will never complete that project if you do not first practice and refine your current skill set. When we practice, we are not only preparing for the future, but we are also taking steps to create it. We are reaching into the ether of creativity and forging something into existence that never would have been seen, heard, or otherwise experienced without our mind and body bring it to life. That is a beautiful thing, and all too often, we forget that it is in the regimen of a healthy daily routine that the best ideas are born. By practicing, we can dabble in the possibilities of tomorrow without commitment, giving us the ability to make mistakes free from judgment and then grow from them before taking steps to expose our art to the world further.
Practice makes us stronger.

Whether you use your time to work on new projects, spitball future possibilities, or refine already developed works, practice allows creative people the ability to strengthen their skills. To what degree this occurs is directly related to how focused the effort is on the individual. Those who have specific goals and work towards them are more likely to find happiness with their actions. Those who do not choose a plan or particular task to work towards lack focus, and their practice sessions will ultimately suffer. Practice should be fun, but purposeful fun is far more rewarding than simply messing around.

Practice reminds us that there is still room to grow.

Have you ever created something you loved only to look back on it days or weeks later in disgust (if at all)? Sometimes we avoid practice because we know it will force us to confront our downfalls, and those are things we as people prefer to leave unexposed. To be a true professional requires us to be honest with ourselves, which includes admitting that we are nowhere near as perfect as we sometimes like to think of ourselves. We are flawed, but if we practice our skills and focus on becoming better, we will, in time, develop both as people and artists.

Practice keeps you humble.

Do you know who never practiced? Me either. You know why? Because they never accomplished anything worth remembering. Everyone who does worthwhile with themselves does after refining a skill or craft to the best of their abilities. When we practice, we force ourselves to realize that we are not where we ideally want to be. That’s okay, though, because so is everyone else walking the planet today. We are all going through our struggles with becoming who we feel we are meant to be. If we ever hope to get there, we must come to terms with the fact we will have to work – probably quite hard – to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves.

Practice reminds us that humility is worth much more than ego.

Your practice space should be considered a sacred location. It’s the place you shed all the armor and disguises you wear to avoid the world’s harsh realities otherwise and allow yourself to be truly free. Those who gain the most from practice sessions do so because they allow themselves to be honest with where they are as an artist. They must face the fact that the entertainment world will go on with or without them, then find it within themselves to forge ahead and continue creating despite what the rest of the world may think of the final result. They create for the sake of creating because they know to do anything else would be to stunt their development as a person and nothing else. If fame and fortune follow, that’s good, but true professionals realize during their time in practice that neither reward is everlasting. True success comes with a feeling of completion. That you finally overcame whatever mental hurdles stood between you and what you were attempting to create without giving up your artistic vision. It doesn’t matter if everyone in the world loves what you make if you know that deep down you could do better. Purposeful practice will make you better, but it requires the abandonment of ego.

Billboard reveals the 12 indie labels with the largest revenue estimates

Major labels continue to dominate the music business, but there are at least a dozen indie labels making a healthy living in the age of streaming.

The music industry is not what is once was, and that is a good thing. There was a time in the not too distant past where the gap between major label dominance and successful indie labels felt unfathomable. Streaming and the internet changed things, however, and a new graphic from the folks at Billboard has revealed just how different the business of music has become.

According to an article first released in the April 27th issue of Billboard, in the first quarter of 2019, independent labels collectively accounted for an estimated 36% of U.S. market share when measured by label ownership. With total revenue of $2.3 billion in 2018, the 12 indies highlighted below had some of the biggest U.S. paydays.

The top earning labels have found success by diversifying their portfolios. Concord Music Group, for example, has acquired numerous smaller labels and catalogs over the last few years. Big Machine Label Group, on the other hand, has been foraying into the world of alcohol and spirits with artist-branded products that are then sold through tours and other live appearances.

Several of the labels featured here, including Concord Music Group, BMG, Entertainment One, use Haulix to promote their new and upcoming releases to tastemakers around the world. You can join them and thousands of other industry professionals in using the service today, for free. Click here to discover the Haulix difference.

Tours headlined by holograms are here, but what does that mean for the living?

Holograms of Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly are touring together this Fall. That’s right, holograms are now invading the competitive live music marketplace.

The music industry will always find new ways to make money. Anyone needing proof of this need only know that this Fall, for the first time ever, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison will be touring together! The two deceased music icons have been resurrected through the power of holograms, and none of us are able to stop someone from trying to cash in on their image in the year 2019.

Today, March 26, news of the impending Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison tour made headlines worldwide. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream Tour, which will run through North American and Europe simultaneously (because the stars are not real), launches this Fall. It is the first-ever musical hologram tour, though it will feature a live band and backup vocalists.

Roy Orbison Jr. had this to say in a press statement about the connection between the two musicians:

My father’s music meant the world to not just us Orbison’s but to millions of fans worldwide. Being able to reopen his legendary songbook and again hear his voice bounce off great concert hall walls is both a transcendent and cathartic experience. Dad jammed with Buddy in Lubbock Texas and helped change music history by turning Buddy on to Norman Petty Studios; Buddy later returned the favor by recording two of Dad’s songs on his first Cricket’s album. How beyond cool and special that these two great friends, now get to tour the world together.

Buddy Holly’s widow Maria Elena said:

Buddy and Roy were Texans who shared a mutual respect and admiration for each other’s creative musical genius and brilliant songwriting abilities. I am proud to work with a company like BASE Hologram. Their long-time fans and a new generation of fans will now have the opportunity to see these great legends perform together in a unique setting, showcasing two of the finest, most influential, and beloved artists in music history.

Orbison’s hologram made its live debut last year on a tour, while Holly’s has been in the works for a while.

Threats of holograms going on tour have been circling the music business since a projection of Tupac made its ‘debut’ during Snoop Dogg’s set at Coachella 2012. It looked something like this:

Looks pretty good, right?

The response to the Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream tour could determine whether or not similar tours features other iconic musicians happen in the future. There have been mentions of ‘resurrecting’ everyone from Elvis to Prince, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and even Michael Jackson (though Leaving Neverland may change the likelihood of that last one). Those names, as well as others, could easily sell tickets and generate additional revenue for the families or companies that own the artist’s music/likeness rights.

It’s not likely to be a concern anytime soon, but the rise of holograms could present new challenges to entertainers trying to make a living from live music. If holograms take off, there will be increased competition in the marketplace. Much like tribute acts, holograms offer consumers a chance to see big names for a fraction of the cost to see the actual performer.

On the other hand, the proliferation of holograms in the live music space could also create new jobs. All these performances will require musicians to fill out the sound, and one has to imagine there will be new careers for people able to run and troubleshoot the hologram technology.

Whatever the case, the future first imagined in science fiction works such as Blade Runner is finally here. We might not have flying cars, but we do have the chance to see legends long gone perform once more. Details on how you can see Buddy and Roy can be found on the tour’s official website.

Music conferences you should attend in 2019

Not all music conferences are created equal. Some will change your life, but others are a waste of time.

Music conferences are an increasingly popular way to learn about the industry, network with peers, and gain access to business leaders who may otherwise be unavailable. No two events are the same, which can be a good and bad thing for consumers, but they all promise to help dreamers learn how to make their fantasies a reality.

The truth is that no one can make your dreams a reality other than you. The best any conference can do is offer the chance to learn how to best position yourself for success. Maybe the means attending panels featuring discussions between industry figures you admire or perhaps it means submitting to showcase at a place where movers and shakers in the business may be present, but success itself is still your responsibility.

With this in mind, it’s important that aspiring professionals who want to attend music conferences select the right event to meet their needs and help their career. There are many conferences that offer little to no useful information, as well as many more who gladly take money from artists in exchange for showcase opportunities that have little to no likelihood of being attended by people who can actually boost a career. These events happen all over the country every year and will continue do so because the vast majority of aspiring professionals are so desperate for the keys to success that they will go anywhere and do anything to get ahead.

But that’s not you. The fact you’re reading this now says you’re only interested in making wise investments with your time and finances. You understand there are no shortcuts in this business, and that alone places you in rarified air in your peer group.

We’ve had the opportunity to attend music conferences from coast to coast, and though we have not been to them all, we do know several that have the potential to change your life and career. Don’t miss these events:

SXSW

When: March 11-17
Where: Austin, TX
Details: https://www.sxsw.com/festivals/music/

The largest gathering of dreamers and professionals in the world, SXSW is the go to destination for anyone trying to rise through the ranks of the music industry. There are hundreds of speakers, thousands of performers, and all the parties anyone could hope to attend. The street food is pretty good too.

We believe everyone should attend SXSW at least once in their lives. It’s a chaotic event unlike anything else that isn’t for everyone, but those determined to get their name or music in front of tastemakers can accomplish that on the streets of Austin as long as they have the confidence to step up and say something.

LAUNCH Music Conference

When: April 25-28
Where: Lancaster, PA
Details: http://www.launchmusicconference.com/

LAUNCH is the SXSW of Pennsylvania. In fact, it may be better than SXSW because those in attendance have more access to industry leaders and a better chance of seeing the next big band in music. The event welcomes thousands from around the US for four days of discussions and mentoring, all lead by some of the brightest minds in the music business. At night, the festival takes over the city of Lancaster with hundreds of live performances happening all over the historic downtown area.

Haulix has participated in LAUNCH several times and will return this April to appear on one of the many great panels curated by the event staff. We’d love to meet you, so please come out and say hello!

Music Biz 2019

When: May 5-8
Where: Nashville, TN
Details: https://musicbiz.org/events/music-biz-2019/

Music Biz 2019, powered by the Music Business Association, will return to Music City USA to unite leaders in the commerce, content and creative communities across the globe to discuss the future of the music business and to build relationships that will steer the industry for years to come. Here you can find representatives from the biggest names in music, as well as networking opportunities with peers in a city where anything can happen.

We collaborate with the Music Biz organization throughout the year on webinars and other educational opportunities. Their star power and location sure makes Music Biz an event worth attending, but it’s the fact that they care about making sure everyone gets something from their conference that places them on this list.

East Coast Music Conference (ECMC)

When: May 9-12
Where: Norfolk, VA
Details: https://eastcoastmusicconference.com

For its second year, ECMC is adding more nationally recognized speakers, such as Matt Starr; Tune Core founder, Jeff Price; and documentarian, John Rash; along with 30 other speakers and panelists. Additionally, for the live music showcases, ECMC will be adding several national acts to compliment approximately 75 international, national, and 20-30 local performers. ECMC 2019 is hosted and sponsored by a Who’s Who of innovative local companies, including O’Connor Brewing, Percolator, and Homemadesoul Music. So far, ECMC 2019 has artists booked from four nations including the U.K. and Japan. The growth has been spurred by overwhelmingly positive response of first year attendees and the successes of 2018 artists, such as being added to Warped Tour and other major events, widespread national media coverage, and the signing of licensing and other deals from the conference.

Every conference promises opportunities to get ahead, but ECMC backs their claims up with evidence of success that no one can deny. Also, it’s the only conference on this list to feature Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman AND rap icon Ice-T in the lineup. If that’s not enough to make you want to attend, we don’t know what to tell you.

CD Baby’s DIY Musician Conference

When: August 16-18
Where: Austin, TX
Details: https://diymusiciancon.com

Don’t let the name fool you. DIY Musician Conference has something to offer artists and aspiring professionals alike. The event itself is young, but the industry talent it attracts is seasoned. You will be face to face with movers and shakers of the industry who are still actively involved in shaping the business of music on a daily basis. You will also rub shoulders with peers who, like you, are ready to take their career to the next level.

Don’t wait to get picked. Pick yourself.

“No one is going to pick you,” wrote Seth Godin in 2011, “pick yourself.”

Yes, it’d be nice if a hip label person saw how great you were playing at 3am to five people and offered to sign you afterwards (that’s how it worked for Unsane after playing with Sonic Youth) but that doesn’t always happen. You still need to push through and make a bit of your own luck.

I spoke recently to bassist Andy Price from the UK band Conjurer. They were gigging plenty, and creating some buzz. They knocked on some label doors, but nothing hapened. Undeterred, they went into the studio to record an EP with no label behind them. They figured that’d show some labels they were serious, right? Selling some units themselves’ always looks good, after all. Then producer Lewis Johns offers to master their EP. He’s done a bit of work for Holy Roar, and has worked with bands like Funeral For a Friend, and Rolo Tomassi. Well, he passes Conurer’s EP along to Holy Roar, and they just put out ‘I’ in July

Belgium’s Oathbreaker is another example. After releasing a 7” through a small label, they went into the studio to record a full length – except they didn’t have any label backing the effort. According to vocalist Caro Tanghe they, “weren’t signed yet, so we basically recorded it ourselves, paid for everything ourselves.” They had no guarantee that what they were working on would pay off, or that it would garner any sort of attention at all. It worked out, though, as they’re putting out their third LP in October on Deathwish.

Keep in mind – working with a label doesn’t mean mansions and exotic sports cars these days. "I still rent a room in a house and I live very frugally,” said Tommy Victor of Prong in an interview with From Hero to Zero, "and that’s the only way I could survive (while) keeping the band going. I’ve had to make those sacrifices.” Tommy’s played with Ministry and Glenn Danzig, and even he’s had to make sacrifices. He’s done it on his terms, and doesn’t need to be “picked” by a big label to keep making it, since "making it” for him means making enough to cover rent for the month.

Picking yourself means doing it on your way, without waiting for any outside acceptence or approval. Whether recording an album, making your own music video, or even starting your own label, your number one supporter should be yourself. And with that internal support, being your own #1 fan, who knows best on how to bring your artistic vision to life?

Pick yourself.

Haulix Weekly Update #43 – “Love Rhymes With Helping Haulix Fight Digital Piracy”

“A wild and crazy weekend involves sitting on the front porch, smoking a cigar, reading a book.” – Robert M. Gates

You may not agree with Mr. Gates’ decision to smoke, but there is something beautiful about the quote above. The best moments in life are those where you can find yourself at peace through simple joys like porch swings and literature. Bars and wild nights spent roaming the city will always have a place in weekend fun, but the finest moments are those spent with the people who matter most, regardless of the activity.

Each and every Friday we like to take a brief break from our regularly scheduled programming to update and reflect on everything happening at Haulix HQ. We are far more than a music blog, as many of you already know, and posts like this give us an opportunity to share more our efforts with all of you.

The big item of the week is, as you can probably guess, the recent launch of our state-of-the-art Piracy Takedown system. For the first time ever, Haulix clients are now able to actively fight the distribution of their copyrighted materials online before and after its scheduled release date without having to make more than a few simple clicks. Once live, our system will crawl the internet in search of your illegally shared content and automatically issue DMCA Takedown Notices to the appropriate service providers. It will also track all recovered links and inform you when those links have been removed.

To access this service, login to your account and click the ‘Tools’ icon at the top of the page. From there, select the ‘Piracy Takedown’ option and input all relevant information. Once submitted, we will crawl the internet looking in all of the popular illegal networks and Google searching for your album and tracks. When the system encounters an illegal link or file, it automatically submits atakedown request to the internet service provider of the suspect site.

Piracy Takedowns is an optional service available to all Haulix clients. As a special introductory offer, you may upload your first release for free. All subsequent releases added to the PiracyTakedown system will incur a one-time nonrefundable charge of $9 per track for the first twelve tracks (additional songs are free). Haulix will continue to perform automatic link and file takedowndowns for each release for as long as you remain a Haulix customer. Click here for more information.

On the blog end of things, the past few days have been incredibly busy. We have rolled out a series of in-depth columns this week, and on top of this we have begun working on the launch of our first-ever podcast. Details on that project are being kept under wraps for now, but by the time July arrives we should be ready to share the first episode with you.

In case you missed anything this week, here is a rundown of every article we have shared over the last seven days:

An Introduction To Concert Photography – Part 2: Photo Pit Etiquette

Hello and welcome to the beginning another week of music industry insight and discussion here on the official blog of Haulix. We were so overwhelmed  by the response to our initial column on concert photography that we decided to bump up the release of part two to this afternoon. We hope to continue this series every week or two for the foreseeable future, but we need your help to make it happen. If you have a question about music photography, or perhaps want to learn more about the industry in general, please email james@haulix.com and we will use your letters to craft the future of this site. We can also be found on Twitter and Facebook

Hey readers, Nick Karp here! Welcome back to my segment about Concert Photography here on the Haulix blog. I’m glad to see that the last article was received well by you, the readers, as well as the concert photography community at large. I feel as if last article were only the tip of the photography iceberg, however, and have spent the past two weeks outlining a series of posts geared towards providing you with everything you need to begin a career in music photography. This week’s topic: Photo pit etiquette.

So you’ve been approved to photograph a concert. Congrats! It’s the night of the show, you’ve picked up your credentials from the box office and you have been given the privilege to enter the photo pit. I want to emphasize the word privilege. Photographing a band from the photo pit is a privilege. You do not have a right to be in that pit, but rather the permission of someone directly connected to those on stage. Permission can and will be revoked as a result of misuse.

Normal people with stereotypical office jobs have a cubicle or an actual office as their workplace. Concert photographers are not normal. A concert photographer’s office is a photo pit, and we have to share it with everyone else approved to shoot. Sometimes the number of photographers in the pit can be as low as one or two, and sometimes, like at a major festival, the number of photographers can number around 70. I’ve shot with both and the latter is not fun.

There is a standard for concert photography that also serves as the one and only written rule in most pits: “three songs, no flash.” This phrase describes the time allotted to photographers (first three songs of the set) and restrictions place on the gear they are allowed to use (no flash photography). I’m going to say 97% of the time I shoot shows I do not use flash. There are instances when I have and will, but we’ll discuss that during another article.

Even though there are no set rules when shooting in the photo pit, besides the above stated, there are many unwritten rules that photographers need to obey to ensure professionalism and proper etiquette:

Back packs: Put your back pack down under the barricade. I understand you need to keep an eye on your gear, and that’s great, but do so without it on your back. The photo pit is a very small place and I’m no longer afraid to mention this. We need to make as much room as possible, and having your bulky bag near the barricade and not in the way helps tremendously.

iPhones:  An iPhone is not professional equipment and you look like an idiot shooting a band with one. Get your Instagram photo after the first three songs.

iPads: Read iPhones and multiply the rage you will cause to stir in fellow photographers by 100.

Point and Shoot: As mentioned before the photo pit is a professional environment. Please do not shoot with nonprofessional equipment; otherwise known as, a point and shoot camera. I’ll take any DSLR camera over a point and shoot. If you don’t have proper equipment, don’t shoot from the pit.

Reaching: This is the most abused unwritten rule here. I understand going for the hail mary and reaching every once in a while, but don’t do it the entire set and don’t do it from in front of the pit. 95% of your reaching shots are unusable, and your camera is getting in the way of other photographers. If you’re going to reach, reach when you’re in the back of the photo pit, that way you’re not in any of the photographer’s way. You’re also disturbing the band and the crowd. Who really wants to see a band with a camera in their face for three songs of the set? It’s disrespectful.

Camping: Much like Call of Duty, staying in one spot in the photo pit is annoying. When you grab the shot you want from that angle, move around, there are plenty of more angles to get. Don’t stay there for the entire set.  Let another photographer grab that angle, and you should grab more angles.

Auto Focus Assist Light: Turn it off. You’re ruining everyone’s shots around you by having a beam of light from your camera hit the artist, and it’s a distraction to the performer. The light has its uses, but the photo pit is not one of them. Please be considerate.

Flash: You’re not allowed to shoot with flash. Plain and simple. Your mounted flash is getting in everyone’s way. I’ve noticed that most people that have a mounted flash also reach, so that’s just an extension of the camera to furthermore get in other people’s shots and distract the audience and performer. Put the flash in your bag, and if you must, attach it after your tenure in the photo pit.

Ego: Keep your ego in check. I don’t care how long you’ve known “so-and-so”, and I don’t care how you should have had an “All Access” pass to the show. Seriously, dude, I don’t care and neither does anyone else in the photo pit.

Today we are continuing that effort with a response to a question posed by one reader in regards to how writers handle the hate that comes their way online.

If you have any questions about developing as a writer/blogger in music, please do not hesitate email james@haulix.com and share your thoughts. We can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.

This may come as a shock to some of the younger writers reading this, but not everyone who reads your reviews will agree with, or even be able to appreciate, what you write. It’s not talked about all that often and it’s never taken to the kind of extremes that warrant news attention, but every writer that has developed a voice worth reading online has and will most likely continue to encounters people who disagree with their opinions on everything. It gets tough and, if we’re being completely honest, can drive even the most talented writers to ask themselves why they didn’t dedicate the last several years chasing after a different career, but it’s of the utmost importance you do not let such messaging break you.

The hard truth is that there is nothing you can do to prevent people from telling you that your work sucks. You are entitled to the opinion you have on the art you critique and the anonymous voices of the internet have a right to the opinion they have about your opinion on that piece of art. They also have a right to express that opinion, and there will be some who choose to exercise that right. The best thing you can do is learn to come to terms with the fact you will never make everyone happy and try your hardest to resist letting any amount of hate detract you from sharing your thoughts with the world. That is far easier said than done, of course, but that is the kind of mindset you are going to need if you want to make it in the writing world today.

There are no guides on how to handle the internet’s disdain for your work, but we can offer a few pointers:

Don’t be afraid to read the hate. You may learn to see things in a whole new light.

There will always be people who choose to express their disagreement with your opinion by telling you to kill yourself, but that is not the case with everyone. Some people simply see or hear things you may not, and reading their explanation for disagreeing with you may help you find a new reason to appreciate a certain artistic creation. Maybe you missed the string quartet on the closing track, or perhaps you overlooked a few subtle connections in the storyline of that recent indie film others were raving about. You might have a lot of good points to make, but you certainly do not have all of them. Others have insight to offer as well, and taking the time to listen/read and consider their thoughts will not only aide you in better understanding certain things, but it will also help you further develop a relationship with your readers.

Try to resist the urge to engage the nonsense.

Remember how I said there will always be people who wish you would kill yourself or otherwise have your life take a turn for the worse because you did not enjoy something they like quite a bit? You may want to engage them and go off with your own delicately-designed string of obscenities, but it’s important to realize from the start that you cannot win a war with the internet. Those haters are looking to get a rise out of you, and feeding their desire for attention will only result in worse words being swapped between people who otherwise would never interact with one another. It’s pointless. Move on.

Remember: It’s only the internet, and there a 99.98% chance the anonymous haters of the internet will never engage you in real life.

Every writer I know has been told over the internet, in one string of obscenities or another, that they are worthless human beings with poor opinions on pop culture who should either get cancer or kill themselves because they’re too stupid to do anything else on this Earth. You know how many of them have been told that in a real life setting while standing or sitting next to another actual person? None. It doesn’t happen. The @nickelback4ever and @musicsnob2006-s of the internet are not going to leap from your laptop or smartphone and grab you by the collar. It’s just text on screen, and it can only do as much damage to your spirit as you allow it.

When the going gets tough and you just do not think you can take anymore hate, do us all a favor and put down the glowing screen you have dedicated your life to and step outside. Close your eyes, take a deep breath or three, and remind yourself there is a lot more to this life than the opinions of other people. Be yourself, and be confident in your thoughts and opinions. Don’t let anyone take away what makes you unique.
